Irdning - Vue vers le nord-ouest sur le Grimming
π¦πΉ Styria Β· Austria β Altitude 805 m
This camera looks northwest from Irdning in the Enns valley towards the Grimming, one of the most recognisable limestone peaks in the Styrian Ennstal Alps. It suits anyone wanting to see how the mountain looks right now before planning a walk, a drive or a day trip in the area.
Irdning sits on the valley floor of the Enns river, at roughly 800 metres above sea level, in the Austrian state of Styria. The Grimming rises steeply to the northwest and is known for its dramatic, almost vertical north face and its prominent summit cross. The valley around it is farmland and forest, with the mountains closing in on both sides and an atmosphere that is quiet and rural rather than touristy.
The camera is aimed at the mountain range rather than the village streets, so the main subject is the massif and the sky above it. Depending on the view, you may see changing cloud cover settling on the peaks, snow lines in winter, and the shifting light of morning and evening. Clear, cold days in autumn and winter often give the sharpest outlines, while summer afternoons tend to bring cloud build-up over the ridges.
The Ennstal has warm summers and cold, snowy winters, with the most settled weather usually in late summer and early autumn. Irdning is easy to reach by road from Liezen and the A9 motorway. Other cameras in the region show the Grimming from different angles, including Grimming - Aigen im Ennstal, St. Martin - Mitterberg, Bad Mitterndorf - GrimmingTherme and Tauplitz - Haus Alpin.
