Achensee - Pertisau Hotel Wiesenhof
🇦🇹 Tyrol · Austria — Altitude 960 m
This live camera looks out over Lake Achensee, the largest lake in Tyrol, from the village of Pertisau. It is a quick way to check how the lake and the surrounding mountains look before planning a walk, a boat trip or a drive over the pass. The stream is provided by its owner and embedded here with a link to the source.
Lake Achensee lies at about 960 metres above sea level in the Karwendel and Rofan mountain area of northern Tyrol. It is long and narrow, with steep forested slopes rising close to the shore, which is why it feels more like a fjord-style alpine valley than an open lake. Pertisau sits at its western end and is a traditional summer village, known for lake swimming, hiking and the cable cars that climb the nearby Rofan range.
Depending on the view, you may see the surface of the lake, the forested shore, boats crossing the water and the mountain ridges behind. Mornings often bring calm water and soft light on the peaks, while afternoon wind can create waves on the lake. Clouds tend to gather over the mountains in the afternoon, so the camera is useful for judging whether the peaks are clear before heading out.
Summers are mild and the most popular season for visiting, with warm days suitable for swimming. Winters are cold and snowy, and the lake area attracts cross-country skiers and winter walkers. Pertisau is reachable by road and by bus from the wider Tyrol region. Nearby cameras on the Karwendel, the Rofan cable car station and the Christlum in Achenkirch show other views of the same mountain landscape.
