Kühtai — village view

Kühtai - Ortsblick

🇦🇹 Tyrol · Austria — Altitude 2090 m

Local time UTC+1Checked 0 viewsHDMountains

This live camera looks over Kühtai, a small high-altitude village in the Stubai Alps of Tyrol. It is useful for checking snow, cloud and visibility before planning a trip up the Sellrain valley or a day on the mountain.

A high Alpine village

Kühtai sits at about 2,090 metres above sea level, in the Sellrain valley south-west of Innsbruck. It is one of the highest permanently inhabited settlements in Austria and is known mainly as a winter sports base with ski lifts, cross-country trails and reservoirs nearby. In summer the surrounding high pastures and rocky peaks draw hikers, and the landscape is open, quiet and exposed to weather.

What to watch on the camera

The view is most useful when you want to judge conditions on the slopes and in the village itself: fresh snow cover, cloud lifting off the ridges, or fog settling in the valley. Depending on the angle, you may see lifts, buildings and the surrounding mountains. Clear mornings tend to give the sharpest views, while afternoons often bring cloud build-up in summer.

Climate and getting there

Winters are long and snowy, with the ski season running from December into April, while summers are short, cool and suitable for hiking from roughly June to September. Expect temperatures well below those of Innsbruck at any time of year. The village is reached by road from Innsbruck through the Sellrain valley. Nearby cameras on the same network include the Wiesbergbahn and Kaiserbahn views, and a few kilometres down the road lie Oetz lift stations.
