Gosau - Dachstein West - Zwieselalm Bergstation
🇦🇹 Upper Austria · Austria
This camera watches the mountain station of the Zwieselalm in the Dachstein West area above Gosau, Upper Austria. It is a useful check on the alpine conditions above the valley before you plan a day on the slopes or a hike. The live player is embedded from the operator's stream, with local time and weather on this page.
Gosau is a small village in the Salzkammergut region of Upper Austria, set in a valley below the limestone massif of the Dachstein. The area is known for its glacier, steep karst ridges, mountain lakes such as the Gosausee, and traditional Alpine farming. The Dachstein West ski area links several lifts and mountain stations across the slopes around the village and is popular with both winter skiers and summer walkers.
Because the view is centred on a mountain station, the picture is mostly about the slopes, lift lines and the sky above them. Conditions can change quickly in the Alps, so the view is most useful in the morning, when cloud and fog often lift, and in late afternoon, when the light softens on the ridges. In winter you may see groomed runs and snow cover, while in summer the meadows and hiking paths are more typical. The stream is the operator's, so image settings and availability are theirs to control.
Gosau sits at a moderate altitude, so valley temperatures are mild in summer and cold in winter, while the mountain station is considerably colder and windier. Spring and early autumn can bring rapid weather changes, so check the live weather on this page before you set out. Nearby cameras include the Edtalm and Family Park views in Russbach, the Gosau valley station of the Zwieselalm and the Donnerkogelbahn in Annaberg-Lungötz, all within a few kilometres.
