Peggys Cove - Peggy's Cove Lighthouse, Nova Scotia
π¨π¦ Nova Scotia Β· Canada
This live stream follows the Peggy's Cove lighthouse on Canada's Atlantic coast, a granite shoreline that draws visitors all year. Check the sea and sky before you plan a trip, or simply watch the water move over the rocks from wherever you are.
Peggy's Cove is a small fishing community on the rocky south shore of Nova Scotia, about an hour's drive southwest of Halifax. It is known for its smooth, glacier-shaped granite slabs, its red-and-white lighthouse and its traditional wooden houses clustered around the harbour. The landscape is stark and open to the ocean, and the light changes quickly with the weather.
The title names the lighthouse, so the view is centred on this landmark and the surrounding rocks and water. Depending on the angle, you may see waves breaking across the ledges, fog rolling in from the sea, or boats passing the coast. Mornings and late afternoons often give softer light, while stormy days bring the most dramatic surf.
Summers are mild and foggy at times, while winters are cold, windy and snowy. The rocks can be slippery and waves may run up the ledges without warning, so keep a safe distance from the water. Halifax, about 32 km away, offers more accommodation and dining, and the Burntcoat Head and Tangier cameras show other parts of the province's coast.
