La Parva - Cima Tórtolas
🇨🇱 Santiago Metropolitan Region · Chile — Altitude 3600 m
This live stream looks out from the Cima Tórtolas area of La Parva, a ski resort in the Chilean Andes above Santiago. It is useful for checking snow and visibility on the upper slopes before you travel or decide which runs to ride.
La Parva sits in the Cajón del Maipo valley, about an hour's drive east of Santiago. The resort is known for its wide, open ski terrain and its high-altitude position, with the summit area reaching well above the valley floor. The surrounding landscape is rocky, dry and steep, typical of the central Andes, and the mountains often look sharp and bare outside the winter months.
The camera is positioned at a high point, so it gives a sense of the upper mountain rather than the village itself. Watching it is most rewarding in the morning, when fresh snowfall is easiest to see, and in the afternoon, when cloud often builds over the peaks. Conditions can change quickly at this altitude, so the view may shift from clear to fully obscured within minutes.
The ski season usually runs from June to September, when snow cover is most reliable. Summer visits are possible for hiking, but the mountain is dry and the weather can be strong, so pack layers and sun protection. Nearby cameras at the Base Manzanito, the Escuela de Ski, Parva Chica and Sector 3100 show other parts of the resort for comparison.
