About the place
Slavkov u Brna is a small town about 20 kilometres southeast of Brno. It is best known as the town near the Battle of Austerlitz, one of the decisive engagements of the Napoleonic Wars, fought in December 1805 on the plateau to the east. The surrounding land is gently rolling farmland, orchards and vineyards typical of the South Moravian lowlands, which makes the setting calm and open.
