Font Romeu - Front de Neige
🇫🇷 Occitania · France — Altitude 1783 m
This live camera overlooks the snow front at Font Romeu, a ski resort at about 1,780 metres in the eastern Pyrenees. It is useful for checking whether the pistes are open, how much snow has fallen and what the sky is doing above the resort.
Font Romeu sits in the Cerdagne valley of Occitania, close to the Spanish border, and is one of the oldest winter sports stations in the Pyrenees. The high mountain setting gives it a wide, open landscape of pine forest and bare ridges, and the sunshine here is famously strong for much of the winter. The town has a long sporting tradition and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.
The view is aimed at the snow front, so the main thing to watch is snow cover, grooming and skier activity on the lower slopes, depending on the view at the time you tune in. Mornings after fresh snowfall are often the most interesting, while late afternoon light can make the mountains look especially sharp. Visibility changes quickly with cloud, so a quick look before leaving is worthwhile.
The best season for skiing runs from December to March, when snow is most reliable. In summer the area is quieter and popular for walking. Nearby cameras include the Chalet Les Airelles, the Sommet view, La Calme Sud and the Col de Pam, which together give a fuller picture of conditions across the resort.
