This live stream looks out over Delphi, the mountain town on the slopes of Parnassus that was once the seat of the famous oracle of Apollo. It lets you check the view and conditions before you plan a visit or simply keep an eye on the mountain.
Delphi sits at about 630 metres above sea level on the northern slopes of Mount Parnassus, in the Phocis region of Central Greece. The ancient sanctuary of Apollo, with its theatre, temples and stadium, is set among steep cliffs and olive terraces that fall toward the Gulf of Corinth. The town is best known as the archaeological site where the Pythia once gave her prophecies, and the landscape around it is among the most dramatic in the country.
The camera is listed as a general view, so the exact framing depends on its position, and you may see parts of the hillside, rooftops or the surrounding mountains. Mornings often bring clearer air and softer light on the slopes, while late afternoon can give warm colours on the rock. Winter snow on Parnassus, when it falls, is a common reason people return to watch the view.
Delphi has a mild Mediterranean climate at this altitude, warmer in summer and cool, sometimes snowy, in winter, so spring and autumn are popular for visits. Mountain weather can change quickly, so check the live conditions here before heading up. Nearby cameras on VizCams include Itea, Desfina and the two Arachova viewpoints in Boeotia, which show other parts of this mountainous region.
