Denpasar - Simpang Tukad Barito - Tukad Badung

This live feed looks down on a busy junction in Denpasar, the capital of Bali, where the Barito and Badung rivers meet the city's road network. It is a traffic view, so it is useful for checking how the roads are moving before you head into the centre. Local weather and time are shown alongside the stream.

About the junction

Denpasar is the administrative and commercial heart of Bali, and it sits on a flat coastal plain close to sea level. The tukad, or river channels, that cross the city shape many of its main roads and bridges. Away from the beaches of the south, Denpasar is where most Balinese people live and work, with markets, temples and government offices spread through its streets. The junction shown here is one of the routes that carry this daily traffic.

What the camera shows

Because this is a traffic camera, the picture focuses on vehicles, scooters and the flow of the junction rather than on scenery. Activity is usually heaviest during the morning and late afternoon commute, and around midday when people travel to lunch. Quieter periods tend to appear in the late evening. Conditions can change quickly with rain, so the view is most informative when you want to judge road flow at a particular hour.

Climate and getting around

Denpasar has a tropical climate with a warm, humid year. The drier months from roughly April to October are generally more comfortable for travel, while the wet season brings heavy afternoon showers. Scooters are the most common way to get around, and traffic can slow noticeably at peak times. Nearby cameras on this site cover other points along the Tukad Barito and Tukad Pakerisan routes, as well as the Puputan road.
