This live camera looks over Sestrières, a high alpine resort in the Piedmont Alps near the French border. It is useful for checking snow and sky conditions before a trip or simply for watching mountain weather change. The live player, local time and forecast are all on this page.
Sestrières sits at about 2,274 metres in the Upper Susa Valley, part of the Via Lattea ski network shared with neighbouring Italian and French resorts. It grew from the early twentieth century into one of the best known winter sports centres in Italy and hosted alpine events for the 2006 Winter Olympics. Its setting of open slopes, larch and pine woods and high ridges gives it a wide, crisp mountain character.
The stream is a mountain view tied to the resort, so what you see depends on the weather, the season and the time of day. In winter, watch for fresh snowfall, grooming on the pistes and whether the slopes look busy or quiet. Clear mornings tend to give the sharpest views of the surrounding peaks, while afternoon cloud often builds over the ridges. Summer views are greener and show hiking traffic on the trails.
Winters are cold and snowy, with reliable snow cover from December into March, while summers are mild and suit walking and mountain biking. Conditions can change quickly at this altitude, so check the live weather block before planning. Sestrières is reached by road from Turin, and the nearby cameras at Sauze di Cezana, Sauze d'Oulx, Claviere and Val-des-Prés show neighbouring slopes in the same area.
