Pordoi - Pass
๐ฎ๐น Veneto ยท Italy โ Altitude 2335 m
This live camera looks out over Pordoi Pass, a high mountain saddle in the Dolomites at about 2,335 metres. It is a useful place to check mountain conditions, cloud and snow before heading into the area, or simply to watch the high Alpine landscape change through the day.
Pordoi Pass links the Veneto and Trentino areas of the Dolomites and sits between the Sella massif and the Sass Pordoi peak. The Dolomites are known for their pale limestone towers, wide alpine meadows and dramatic light. The pass is one of the best-known viewpoints in the range and a popular stop for road cyclists and walkers in summer and winter alike.
Depending on the view, you may see the road over the pass, the surrounding rock faces, cloud moving over the ridges and snow cover that comes and goes through the season. Early mornings often bring clear air and sharp shadows on the peaks, while afternoons in summer frequently bring cloud build-up. Winter views change completely when the slopes are white.
The Dolomites have a mountain climate with cool nights even in summer, and conditions can shift quickly, so check the forecast shown above before travelling. Summer and early autumn are generally the most reliable months for hiking and driving the pass. Nearby cameras include Canazei Col dei Rossi, Canazei Sass Pordoi, Arabba Pista Fodoma and Arabba Porta Vescovo.
