Arieşeni - Piste de Vartop I Arieseni
🇷🇴 Alba · Romania — Altitude 834 m
This live camera looks over a ski piste at Vartop, above the village of Arieşeni in Alba County. It is useful if you want to see snow cover, slope activity and visibility before deciding whether to drive up to the mountains. The page also shows local time and weather for the village.
Arieşeni sits at roughly 830 metres in the Apuseni Mountains of western Romania, a limestone upland known for forests, meadows and gorges. The village is a base for hiking and winter sports in the Bihor area, and the peaks of Vârful Bihor rise to the north-east. The landscape is quieter and less developed than the big Carpathian resorts, which is a large part of its appeal.
The view is aimed at the Vartop piste, so the most useful moments are early morning, when grooming and first skiers appear, and mid-afternoon, when light is strongest. In winter the picture shows how much snow is on the slope and whether the cloud is down on the ridges. Conditions can change quickly in mountain weather, so the live view is most helpful on the day you travel.
Winter brings the most reliable snow, usually from December into March, though thaws and rain can occur at lower altitudes. Summer is mild and suits walking and cycling in the surrounding hills. Arieşeni is reached by road from Alba Iulia or Cluj-Napoca, and nearby cameras on this site cover the Vârful Bihor panorama and the Cucurbăta Mare viewpoint for a wider picture of the area.
