This live camera looks over Albarracin, a small walled town on a rocky hill in the Sierra de Albarracin in eastern Spain. Watch the stream to see how the town and its surrounding slopes look right now, and check the local conditions before you plan a trip.
Albarracin sits at roughly 1,157 metres above sea level in the province of Teruel, within the Aragon region. Its old quarter, with red-tinted sandstone houses and defensive walls, has been preserved so carefully that much of the town is protected as a historic site. The surrounding countryside is a mix of pine forest, cliffs and river gorges, which gives the area a quiet, remote character that is very different from the big cities of Spain.
Because the camera is a mountain view, the most rewarding moments tend to come around sunrise and sunset, when the sandstone walls take on a warm glow and shadows move across the valley. Clear mornings often give the best visibility, while cloud or mist can roll in quickly on higher ground. The exact framing and what is visible at a given moment depend on the view, so use the live player and the weather block together to judge conditions.
The area has a continental climate with cold winters, often with snow, and warm, dry summers. Spring and autumn are generally the most comfortable seasons for walking the town and the nearby trails. Albarracin is reached by road, and the nearby cameras at Hoyalta, Gudar, Albentosa and Villahermosa del Rio show other parts of the wider region if you want to compare conditions across the mountains.
