Jungfraujoch - Jungfraujoch
🇨🇭 Bern · Switzerland — Altitude 3483 m
This live camera looks out from Jungfraujoch, the high mountain pass between the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks in the Bernese Oberland. It is a useful window onto alpine conditions, since cloud, snow and wind can change quickly at this height. Check the live player and the weather blocks below before you plan a trip up.
Jungfraujoch sits at about 3,483 metres between the Jungfrau and the Mönch, on the edge of the Aletsch region. The area is known for its glaciers, rock faces and the railway that climbs through the Eiger to reach the pass. Its isolation and scale give it a stark, high-mountain character that is quite unlike the valleys below.
Because the camera is set on a high alpine pass, the picture depends heavily on cloud and light. On clear mornings you may see sunlight moving across snowfields and peaks, while in the afternoon cloud often builds and can hide the summits within minutes. Winter brings heavy snow and bright, sharp conditions, and summer shows the glaciers at their most open.
The pass is reached mainly by the Jungfrau railway from Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald, and the trip takes most of a morning or afternoon. Temperatures are well below freezing for much of the year, so warm clothing is essential even in summer. Nearby cameras include the Arête est de la Jungfrau and the Mönchsjochhütte in Grindelwald, which show other angles of the same range.
