This live camera looks out from the Glacier 3000 area above Les Diablerets in the Swiss Alps. It is useful if you want to see the high-mountain conditions before deciding whether to ride up. The page also shows local time and weather for the station's altitude.
Glacier 3000 sits on the slopes above Les Diablerets in the canton of Vaud, at roughly 2,525 metres. The area is known for its glacier, its alpine ski terrain and its panoramic views over the Bernese and Valais Alps. Access is by gondola and cable car from the valley, and the high plateau feels very different from the villages below.
Depending on the view, you may see snowfields, rocky ridges, cloud moving across the peaks and skiers or hikers on the terraces. Clear mornings tend to give the sharpest views of the surrounding summits, while afternoon cloud often builds up over the high ground. Winter brings the most snow activity, and summer shows the bare rock and meltwater more clearly.
Temperatures at this altitude are much colder than in the valley, even in summer, and wind can make it feel harsher still. Check the weather block on this page before travelling and dress in layers. Nearby cameras include Les Diablerets ski school, Les Mazots and the village of Gsteig bei Gstaad, which give you a sense of conditions at lower elevations.
