This live stream offers a view over Las Vegas, the largest city in Nevada and one of the most visited destinations in the United States. It is useful for checking how the city looks right now before you travel, or simply for following the skyline and street activity from wherever you are.
Las Vegas sits in the Mojave Desert at roughly 600 metres above sea level, surrounded by mountain ranges and dry basins. It is best known for its resort hotels, casinos, convention centres and entertainment shows, but it is also a growing city with a large residential population. The Strip, the historic downtown area and the wide valley beyond give the city a skyline that changes noticeably between day and night.
Depending on the view, you may see the skyline, major roads and traffic, or the lights of the city after dark. Evenings are usually the most striking, when the illuminated buildings stand out against the desert sky. Clear mornings and late afternoons also tend to give the best visibility, while dust or haze can soften distant features on windy days.
Las Vegas has a hot desert climate, with very hot summers, mild winters and little rain throughout the year. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons for walking outdoors. The city is served by Harry Reid International Airport, which is only about six kilometres from the nearby camera at the airport, and you can reach Boulder City and Lake Mead by road in under an hour.
