Lake George is a long, narrow lake set between wooded mountains in the Adirondack region of New York, about 108 metres above sea level. The village of Lake George sits at its southern end and has long been a summer destination for boating, swimming and fishing. The lake is known for its clear water and for the islands and forested shoreline that stretch northward.
