Solitude - Parking de la base Moonbeam
🇺🇸 Utah · United States — Altitude 2440 m
This camera looks out over the parking area at the base of Solitude Mountain Resort, one of the ski areas in the Wasatch Mountains near Salt Lake City. It is useful for seeing how busy the lot is and what the snow looks like at the bottom of the mountain before you set out.
Solitude sits in Big Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Range of northern Utah, at roughly 2,440 metres above sea level. The canyon is known for deep powder snow, steep terrain and a quieter atmosphere than the larger resorts nearby. Surrounding slopes are mostly forested, and the high peaks rise sharply above the base area.
The view centres on the parking area, so you can judge traffic, arrivals and parking space. Winter mornings are usually the busiest period, when skiers and snowboarders arrive before the lifts open. Snow accumulation and visibility change quickly during storms, so checking the live picture just before leaving can save time on the road.
Winter is the main season here, with the snow typically strongest from December to March. Mountain weather can change within hours, and winter driving in the canyon may require tyres or chains, so check road conditions too. Nearby cameras include the Link lift queue and the Powderhorn chairlift, and Brighton is about three kilometres away.
