About Turrach and its high pass
Turrach is a small village in the Gurktal Alps of Carinthia, in southern Austria, and sits at around 1,855 metres on the Turracher Höhe pass. The area is known for its open alpine meadows, its mountain lake and its role as a winter sports and summer hiking base. The landscape is quieter than the big resorts further west, with forest, pasture and ridgelines around the water.
