Astental - Burgstalleralm - vue vers le sud-ouest
🇦🇹 Carinthia · Austria — Altitude 2116 m
This camera looks over the high pastures of the Burgstalleralm above Astental, a side valley in the Carinthian Mölltal region of Austria. It is a useful window onto the mountain weather and light before you plan a walk or drive into the Hohe Tauern area. The page also shows the local time and a three-day forecast.
Astental is a quiet valley near Mörtschach and Flattach in western Carinthia, running into the Hohe Tauern range of the Eastern Alps. The Burgstalleralm sits at around 2116 metres, where open alpine meadows give way to rocky ridges and forest. The area is known for its traditional farming, hiking and the wide mountain scenery that surrounds the upper Mölltal.
The camera is aimed toward the south-west, so the view is best watched in the morning, when light falls across the valley, or in the late afternoon for warm tones on the peaks. Clear days often reveal the full ridgeline, while cloud can drop quickly over the mountains in summer. Check the live picture before setting out, as conditions at this height change faster than in the valley below.
Summer, from June to September, is the most popular season for hiking, with cooler temperatures than the lowlands and frequent afternoon showers. Winter brings snow and access for skiing at the nearby Mölltaler Gletscher, which has its own cameras, including the Alteck lift arrival and the Eissee gondola station. Nearby Mörtschachberg and Grafenberg cameras give additional viewpoints across the Mölltal.
