Zechneralm - Route de la Nockalm - vue vers le sud
🇦🇹 Salzburg · Austria — Altitude 1920 m
This live camera looks south over the high pastures and peaks along the Nockalm Road, a scenic alpine route linking Carinthia and Salzburg. It is a useful window for judging mountain conditions before you drive up, or simply for watching the weather move across the ridges.
The Nockalm Road crosses the Nockberge, a range of rounded mountains in the Austrian Alps known for broad alpine meadows rather than sharp rock faces. The road reaches well above the treeline and is famous for its many hairpin bends and open pastures. The Zechneralm sits at roughly 1,920 metres, where the landscape is shaped by grazing, summer huts and long views across the Lungau and Carinthian ridges.
The camera is a southward-facing mountain view, and the picture will depend on cloud, haze and snow cover at the time you look. Clear mornings often give the sharpest outlines of the peaks, while afternoons can bring cloud build-up over the ridges. In shoulder seasons you may see patches of snow lingering on the higher slopes, and in winter the view is typically white and quiet.
Summers are mild and the road is usually open from late spring into autumn, while winter closures are common, so check conditions before travelling. Nearby cameras on the same road include Eisentalhöhe and Glockenhütte, and the Turracher Höhe lift station is a short drive away. Bring warm layers even in summer, as temperatures at this altitude can drop quickly.
