This live feed looks out over Corner Brook, a port and industrial town on the west coast of Newfoundland. It is useful for checking how the weather is developing over the Bay of Islands before you travel or plan a day outdoors.
Corner Brook sits on the Humber Arm, an inlet of the Bay of Islands on Newfoundland's west coast. It grew around a paper mill and remains the largest urban centre on the western side of the island. Steep wooded hills rise close to the water, and the town is a common base for visiting Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the north. The Marble Mountain ski area is also nearby.
The camera title gives no detail about the exact view, so check the live picture to see what is in frame at the moment. Water and sky conditions change quickly on this coast, and low cloud or fog often moves in from the Atlantic. Late afternoon and early evening are often the most pleasant times to look, when light is softer on the hills and harbour.
Western Newfoundland has a cool, humid, maritime climate, with mild summers and wet, windy winters. Summer is generally the most comfortable season for visiting. Corner Brook is reached by the Trans-Canada Highway, and Deer Lake Regional Airport, about an hour away, is the nearest airport. Other cameras in the region are listed below the player for comparison.
