About Beroun and its square
Beroun sits in the Berounka river valley at the edge of the Brdy hills, a short distance from the motorway linking Prague with the west. The town has a compact historic core built around its main square, with older houses, cafés and shops. Its setting between river and wooded hills gives it a calm, small-town character that differs from the bustle of the capital. The Hus Square name refers to the reformer Jan Hus, a figure widely remembered across the Czech Republic.
What to watch and when
The camera is titled after the square, so it is reasonable to expect a view of the open space and the buildings around it, though the exact framing is best confirmed on the live player. Activity tends to be greatest on weekday mornings, around lunchtime and on Saturdays when markets and errands bring people downtown. Evenings can be quieter, and the view depends on lighting and weather. Check the live time on this page to see whether daylight or dusk conditions apply.
Climate and getting around
Beroun has a temperate continental climate with warm summers and cold, often grey winters. Late spring through early autumn is generally the most pleasant time to visit the town and the surrounding hills. Beroun is well connected by regional trains and buses from Prague. Nearby cameras on this site include Chrastany, Kladno and the Petřín lookout tower and Kavčí hory views in Prague, which can help you compare conditions across the region.
