About Pilsen
Pilsen sits at the meeting point of the Radbuza and Mže rivers in the Plzeň Region, roughly 90 kilometres west of Prague. It is best known as the birthplace of Pilsner lager, first brewed here in 1842, and its historic old town grew around a large square with a Gothic church and Renaissance houses. The city lies at about 414 metres above sea level on gently rolling terrain, with forested hills to the south.
