Puy Mary
🇫🇷 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes · France — Altitude 1589 m
This live camera looks out over Puy Mary, a volcanic peak in the Cantal massif of central France. Use it to judge cloud cover, visibility and snow before you plan a walk or drive. The current weather and local time are shown on the page alongside the stream.
Puy Mary rises to about 1,589 metres in the Cantal, the largest volcanic range in Europe, which formed from ancient eruptions. The area is known for rounded green summits, grazing pastures and the cheese and farming traditions of the Auvergne. The landscape changes quickly with altitude, so the top can be very different from the valleys below.
The camera is tied to the summit area, so the most useful moments are early morning, when valleys often fill with cloud below the ridge, and clear afternoons after rain. Winter views may show snow and frost on the grass. Depending on the view you may also see walkers, road traffic on the mountain pass or changing light over the surrounding peaks. Check the live feed before setting out.
Summers are mild and the best period for hiking runs from June to September, while autumn brings colourful beech and birch woods. Winter can be cold, windy and snowy at this altitude, and roads may close temporarily. Nearby cameras at Le Lioran, Prat de Bouc and Superbesse give a wider picture of the Cantal and Auvergne mountains.
