Le Crotoy - Plage
🇫🇷 Hauts-de-France · France — Altitude 5 m
This live stream looks out over the beach at Le Crotoy, a small resort on the southern shore of the Baie de Somme in northern France. It is a useful way to check the sea, the sand and the sky before you travel, or to keep an eye on the tide from wherever you are.
Le Crotoy sits where the Somme estuary meets the English Channel, in the Hauts-de-France region. The town is known for its wide, flat sands, its salt marshes and its links to the bay's natural reserve. The landscape is open and low, with big skies and a lot of light, which gives the coast a calm, unhurried character compared with the cliffs further north.
Because the bay is so flat, the tide changes the view dramatically: at low water the sands stretch a long way out, while at high water the sea comes close to the promenade. Watching during the morning or late afternoon usually gives the softest light. Weather plays a big part too, so cloud, wind and haze can change the scene quickly from one hour to the next.
The coast here is generally mild for northern France, though winds off the Channel can be strong, so a windproof layer is sensible in any season. Summer is the most popular time to visit. Nearby, you can compare this view with other coastal cameras in the area, including Fort-Mahon-Plage, Ault and Le Tréport, all within about 20 kilometres.

The camera is on the beach at Le Crotoy, on the southern side of the Baie de Somme, a short distance from the town centre. The map on this page shows its position.
Low tide and clear weather tend to make the sands most striking, and early mornings or late afternoons offer the best light. Tide times vary daily, so the view can differ a lot from one visit to the next.
