Frauenau - Vue vers le nord-est
🇩🇪 Bavaria · Germany — Altitude 625 m
This camera looks north-east from the Bavarian Forest town of Frauenau, giving a live view over wooded hills and open ground. It is useful if you want to see what the sky and terrain look like before planning a walk or drive in the area. The page also shows the local time and the current weather.
Frauenau is a small community in the Lower Bavarian part of the Bavarian Forest, a low mountain range along the border with the Czech Republic. The town is known for its long glassmaking tradition, and the surrounding countryside is dominated by spruce and beech forest, rolling ridges and quiet valleys. Its setting at around 625 metres gives it a cooler, more wooded character than the lowlands to the south.
A view across forested hills is most rewarding in clear weather, when distant ridges stand out in layers of blue and green. Morning and late afternoon light tend to bring out the shape of the terrain, while autumn colours and winter snow change the scene noticeably. Fog settling in the valleys is common on cool mornings, so the picture can shift quickly from open to hazy.
The Bavarian Forest has a continental climate with warm summers and cold, snowy winters, and late spring through early autumn are the most popular months for walking and cycling. Nearby cameras include Zwiesel hospital, about six kilometres away, and the Silberberg mountain station in Bodenmais, around fifteen kilometres off. Regional trains and buses connect the larger towns, but a car is the easiest way to reach trailheads.
