🇮🇹 Trentino-South Tyrol · Italy — Altitude 2230 m
This live camera looks out over Val Gardena from the Ciampinoi area of the Dolomites, at about 2,230 metres. It is useful for checking how the mountains look right now before you plan a walk, a ski day or a drive over the passes.
Val Gardena is a long Alpine valley in the Dolomites of Trentino-South Tyrol, where Italian, German and Ladin cultures meet. It is known for its jagged limestone peaks, traditional wood carving workshops and well-marked trail networks. The villages sit along the valley floor while the slopes rise steeply on both sides.
Depending on the view, you may see rock faces, alpine meadows, forest and the ski slopes that cover the mountainsides. Clear mornings often bring the best visibility of the peaks, while afternoon cloud can build quickly in summer. Changes in snow cover are most noticeable between late autumn and spring.
The valley is best visited in summer for hiking and in winter for skiing, while late spring and autumn are quieter. Summers are mild in the valley and cooler on the heights, so bring layers. Nearby cameras on Piz Sella and in Selva let you compare conditions at other points in the valley.
