Trentino-South Tyrol, Italy — 1.4 km
🇮🇹 Trentino-South Tyrol · Italy
This live camera looks out over Kurzras, a high-altitude village at the head of the Schnals valley in South Tyrol. It is a useful check before a mountain walk, a ski day or a drive up the valley. The live player, local time and weather forecast are all on this page.
Schnals is a long side valley of the Venosta valley in the Italian province of South Tyrol, on the border with Austria. Kurzras sits near the upper end, where the road ends and the landscape turns to larch forest, alpine meadows and glacier-carved peaks. The area is known for the Similaun and the Ötztal Alps, and for its strong South Tyrolean farming and mountain culture.
Depending on the view, you may see the village, the slopes and the mountain skyline around the valley head. Mornings often bring clear air and sharp light on the peaks, while afternoons can build cloud over the high ridges. Winter views tend to show snow cover on the slopes, and summer views show green meadows and hikers on the trails.
The valley has a cold continental mountain climate, with snow from late autumn into spring and cool summers. The best time for walking is usually late June to September, when high trails are generally open. Several other cameras in the Schnals area, including Lazaun, the Grawand and the Schnalstaler glacier railway, are listed on this page for comparing conditions at different heights.
