Mayon Volcano - Albay
🇵🇭 Albay · Philippines — Altitude 785 m
This live stream follows Mayon, the near-perfect cone rising above Albay province in the Bicol region of the Philippines. The volcano is one of the most active in the country, so the feed is often watched by people tracking its moods as much as by travellers. Use the page to check the sky above the summit and the conditions in the area before you plan a visit.
Mayon stands about 785 metres above sea level and is famous for its unusually regular conical shape, which many people regard as one of the most beautiful volcanoes in the world. It sits in the Bicol region of southeastern Luzon, close to the city of Legazpi, and is surrounded by farmland, villages and coconut plantations on its lower slopes. The volcano has erupted many times over the centuries, and its history of activity is part of what gives the area its character. Local communities live with it closely and keep a careful eye on official warnings.
The camera is aimed at the mountain itself, so it is the best way to see whether the summit is clear or hidden by cloud. Mornings often bring the clearest views before clouds build over the peak during the day. Clouds and rain can cover the cone for long stretches, especially in the wet season, so a quick check at different hours may help. Keep in mind that this is a live stream from its owner, and VizCams only embeds it.
The Bicol region has a tropical climate with a wet season from roughly June to November, when typhoons can arrive, and a drier period in the early months of the year. Legazpi is the main gateway for visitors and has regular transport links to Manila. Mayon is the only camera currently listed in the region on VizCams, but you can also look at the Bulusan Volcano camera about 73 km away, along with cameras further afield such as Calamba and Mandaluyong.
