Cos - SKRZYCZNE
🇵🇱 Silesian Voivodeship · Poland — Altitude 1252 m
This live camera looks out from the Skrzyczne massif, one of the highest peaks of the Silesian Beskids near Cos in southern Poland. It is useful for seeing how the ridge looks right now, whether cloud is sitting on the summit or the sky is clearing. The page also shows local time and the weather forecast for the area.
Skrzyczne rises to about 1,250 metres and is the highest point of the Silesian Beskids, a range of forested mountains on the border between Silesia and the Lesser Poland region. The area is known for its long wooded ridges, open meadows and the resort town of Szczyrk at its foot. The landscape changes quickly with altitude, from pine and beech forest in the valleys to exposed grassy slopes near the top.
The view is tied to the mountain itself, so the most interesting moments depend on conditions. Clear mornings often bring the best visibility over the surrounding ridges, while late afternoon light can make the slopes stand out. In autumn the beech and larch woods change colour, and in winter snow and rime can turn the summit area white. Fog and cloud are common at height, so a grey picture does not necessarily mean the rest of the region is dull.
The Beskids have a mountain climate, with cooler and wetter conditions than the lowlands and snow from roughly December into March. Summer and early autumn suit hiking, while winter is popular for skiing at the nearby Szczyrk resorts. Other cameras in the area, including Zbójnicka Kopa, Jaworzyna and Hala Skrzyczeńska, show neighbouring slopes and can help you compare conditions before you set out.
