Małe skrzyczne - Szczyrk
🇵🇱 Silesian Voivodeship · Poland — Altitude 1198 m
This camera looks out from Małe Skrzyczne, a peak of about 1,200 metres in the Silesian Beskids above the Szczyrk resort. It is useful for seeing whether the ridges are clear, how much cloud is sitting on the slopes, and what conditions are like before a hike or ski day.
Małe Skrzyczne is part of the Beskid Śląski range in southern Poland, close to the Czech border. Szczyrk, at the foot of the massif, is one of the best-known mountain towns in the region and a long-standing centre for winter sports and summer walking. The landscape is a mix of forested slopes, open grassy ridges and mountain meadows, with weather that can change quickly as clouds move over the crest.
The camera is aimed at the mountain ridge, so the view depends on the season and the weather. On clear days you may see the wider chain of the Beskids stretching away, while low cloud or fog can hide the summit for hours. Early mornings often give the calmest air and the best visibility, and winter snow or autumn colours tend to make the view most striking.
The region has a temperate mountain climate: winters are snowy and cold, summers are mild, and the highest ground is often windy. Late spring, summer and early autumn are good for walking, while December to March suits skiing. Nearby, the Szczyrk resort cameras on Zbójnicka Kopa and Hala Skrzyczeńska show other points of the same ridge, all within about a kilometre.
