Le Cap - Bloubergstrand
🇿🇦 Western Cape · South Africa — Altitude 9 m
This live camera looks out over Bloubergstrand, the wide sandy shore on the northern edge of Cape Town facing Table Mountain across Table Bay. It is a useful window for checking how the Atlantic coast looks right now before you plan a walk, a swim or a drive up the West Coast.
Bloubergstrand sits on the Western Cape coast a short drive north of the city centre, in the Blaauwberg area. The beach is long and open, with pale sand and a view across the bay to the flat-topped silhouette of Table Mountain. It is best known as a classic spot for kite surfing and wind sports, and the shoreline has a quiet, windswept character that is very different from the city behind it.
Because the camera is set on a nature-focused stream, the most rewarding moments are often early morning and late afternoon, when the light falls warmly across the water and the mountain. Wind strength and cloud cover change the scene quickly, so the live feed is a good way to judge whether the sea is calm or choppy. Conditions shift from hour to hour, so you may see anything from still water to strong breezes.
Cape Town has a Mediterranean-type climate with dry, sunny summers and mild, wetter winters. The Atlantic side is typically cooler than the bay, and wind is common, especially in the warmer months. Nearby cameras include Milnerton, about 5 km away, and Table Mountain, about 13 km away, if you want a wider view of the coastline and the city.
