Bregaglia - Albigna
🇨🇭 Graubünden · Switzerland — Altitude 2166 m
This camera looks out over the Albigna area in the Bregaglia valley of Graubünden, at about 2,166 metres above sea level. It is useful if you want to judge mountain conditions, cloud cover and snow before planning a walk or a trip up the valley. The live player is paired with current weather and a forecast so you can see what the mountains are doing right now.
Bregaglia lies in the southeast of Graubünden, close to the Italian border, where the Maloja Pass opens onto the Engadine. The valley is known for granite peaks, larch and spruce forests, and the sharp contrast between the green lower slopes and the rocky heights above. The Albigna area sits high above the village of Vicosoprano and is shaped by glaciers and the reservoir below the dam wall.
The view is mainly about the mountain landscape itself: the sky, the high ridges and any changes from clear to cloudy. Mornings often bring the clearest air before afternoon clouds build over the peaks. Watch in summer to see the meadows and rock faces in full light, and in autumn or winter to follow the first and lasting snow. Depending on the view, you may also notice mist settling over the water.
Summers are mild at this altitude and winters are cold with plenty of snow, so check the forecast before heading out. Access to the upper area is by cable car from the valley, and the trail network is best in the warmer months. Nearby cameras include Bregaglia Aela, about 8 km away, and the Silvaplana cameras on Corvatsch and Murtèl, which give a wider picture of the Upper Engadine.
