🇨🇭 Obwalden · Switzerland — Altitude 1795 m
This live camera looks out over the Trübsee area on the slopes beneath Mount Titlis in central Switzerland, at about 1,800 metres. It is useful for judging whether the peaks are clear before a day trip, or simply for watching alpine weather roll across the valley.
Mount Titlis rises above the Engelberg valley in the canton of Obwalden and is one of the best-known peaks in central Switzerland. The Trübsee is a small lake on the mountain's lower slopes, reached by cable car from Engelberg. The landscape is steep limestone, dark conifers, alpine meadows and glacier-carved terrain, and the area is popular with hikers in summer and skiers in winter.
Depending on the view, you may see the lake surface, the surrounding slopes and cloud moving over the ridges. Clear mornings tend to show the peaks most sharply, while afternoon cloud often builds quickly in summer. In winter the snow cover changes the scene completely, and the camera is most useful for checking whether the slopes are fresh and visible.
Summers are mild at this altitude and winters are cold with heavy snow, so conditions can shift within an hour. Engelberg is the usual base, with the cable car system taking visitors up the mountain. Other cameras in the area, including Engstlenalp and the Titlis summit, offer different viewpoints nearby for comparison.
