Tignes - Brévières
🇫🇷 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes · France — Altitude 1550 m
This live camera looks over the Brévières sector of Tignes, a high Alpine resort in the Savoie department of the French Alps. It is useful for checking how snow and cloud are sitting on the slopes before you head up. The page adds local time, current weather and a three-day forecast beside the stream.
Tignes sits at roughly 1550 metres in the Tarentaise valley, above the reservoir of Lac du Chevril, and it is one of the best-known ski areas in the French Alps. The resort was largely built in the 1960s and later as a purpose-built village, so its architecture is modern and functional rather than traditional. Around it rise high glaciers, rocky cirques and wide alpine meadows that change dramatically through the year.
Depending on the view, you may see pistes, lift lines, roofs of the resort buildings and the surrounding mountain faces. Winter views are most interesting in clear mornings after fresh snowfall, when the slopes are freshly groomed. In summer the same camera can show green slopes, hikers and the sharp light of high-altitude afternoons, and cloud often builds up over the peaks by early afternoon.
Tignes has a continental mountain climate with cold winters and short, bright summers, and weather at this altitude can change within an hour. Mid-winter and spring are the main ski seasons, while summer suits hiking and mountain biking. Nearby cameras include Les Boisses at 1800 metres, the Lac de Tignes view, Val Claret and Bellevarde in Val d'Isère.
