Val d'Isère - Bellevarde
🇫🇷 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes · France — Altitude 2550 m
This live camera looks out over the Bellevarde mountain above Val d'Isère in the French Alps, at roughly 2,550 metres. It is useful for anyone planning a ski trip who wants to check snow and sky conditions before heading up. The live player, local time and forecast sit together on this page.
Val d'Isère is a well-known ski town in the Tarentaise valley of Savoie, part of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It sits in a wide glacial valley ringed by steep peaks and is linked to neighbouring Tignes through one of the largest ski areas in the Alps. The village keeps a traditional character with stone houses and a church at its heart, while the slopes above it are its main draw.
The camera is aimed at a mountain summit, so the picture is about open terrain, weather and light rather than village life. Clear mornings tend to give the sharpest views of the snow, while afternoon cloud often builds over the peaks. Mid-winter and spring are the seasons when the slopes are most visibly in use, and conditions can change quickly at this altitude.
Winter brings the most snow and the busiest slopes, usually from December into April, while summer offers hiking and mountain biking on the same terrain. Expect cold, windy conditions at the top even on sunny days. Nearby cameras include the Front de neige and Vieux Village views in Val d'Isère, and Val Claret and Lac de Tignes across the valley in Tignes.
