Wendelstein - Gare d'arrivée - vue plongeante vers le sud-est
🇩🇪 Bavaria · Germany — Altitude 1724 m
This camera looks down from the arrival station on top of the Wendelstein, one of the best-known mountains of the Bavarian Alps. It is a useful way to check how the Alpine skies and cloud cover look from the summit before you plan a trip up. The live player, local time and weather are shown on this page.
The Wendelstein rises to about 1,724 metres near the border with Austria, south-east of Munich, and is reached by a cog railway and a cable car. Its summit is a well-known viewpoint over the Inn valley, the Chiemgau Alps and, on clear days, the foothills stretching toward the Alps' main ridge. The surrounding area is a mix of limestone peaks, alpine meadows and small villages in the Mangfall and Inn districts.
The view runs south-east from the summit, so you can follow cloud build-up over the peaks, fog moving through the valleys and changes in light through the day. Mornings are often clearest, while afternoon thunderstorms can roll in quickly during summer. Winter views depend on snow cover and visibility, so the live picture is the best guide to conditions on the day.
Summer, from June to September, is the most reliable season for going up, while winter brings skiing and snowshoe routes. Weather at altitude can change within an hour, so check the forecast shown here and bring warm layers even in summer. Nearby cameras on this page, including the south-west view from the same station and the Bayrischzell cameras, help you compare conditions across the area.
