Tatry zachodnie
🇵🇱 Lesser Poland · Poland — Altitude 2084 m
This live view looks out over the Western Tatras, the part of the Tatra range in southern Poland that rises above the Podhale region. The stream is useful for checking mountain conditions, cloud cover and snow before planning a walk or drive. Local weather and time are shown on the page alongside the player.
The Western Tatras form the western end of the Tatra Mountains, the highest range of the Carpathians. Their limestone and granite peaks rise sharply from forested valleys, and the area is known for its alpine lakes, meadows and marked hiking trails. The town of Zakopane, the main gateway to the mountains, lies to the east. The landscape changes quickly with altitude, from pine forest to open rock above the treeline.
Because this is a mountain camera, the most useful things to watch are cloud movement, visibility over the ridges and the presence of snow on the higher slopes. Mornings often bring clear air before clouds build over the peaks in the afternoon, so early hours are good for distant views. Winter and early spring show the snow cover most clearly, while summer views depend heavily on weather. Check the live player to judge conditions as they change.
The Western Tatras are best visited from late spring to early autumn for hiking, while winter brings skiing and snowshoe trips. Summers are mild and winters are cold with heavy snowfall at altitude. Nearby cameras on this site include Zuberec, Roháče and Spálená, about 5 km away, as well as the Pribylina open-air museum and the Oravice thermal area, each within roughly 11 to 12 km.
