🇪🇸 Catalonia · Spain — Altitude 2072 m
This live camera looks out over the Baqueira-Beret ski area in the Catalan Pyrenees, at around 2,000 metres above sea level. It suits anyone planning a ski day, checking snow and cloud before a trip, or simply curious about high mountain conditions in real time.
Baqueira-Beret is one of the best known ski resorts in Spain, set in the Val d'Aran in the northwest of Catalonia near the French border. The resort sits in a wide glacial valley framed by steep slopes, forests of pine and beech, and rocky peaks. It is also a royal favourite, which has helped give it a polished, lively reputation. The Bonaigua pass nearby marks a historic route between the Aran valley and the Pallars region.
The camera is a mountain view, so what you see depends on the conditions. Clear mornings tend to offer the sharpest view of the slopes and their snow cover, while afternoon cloud often rolls in over the ridges. In winter, watch for fresh snowfall, grooming on the pistes and lift activity. In spring and autumn the view can show bare slopes, changing colours in the forests and the first or last snow on the peaks.
The main ski season usually runs from December to April, and the snow is generally most reliable in the core winter months. Summer brings hiking and cooler mountain air, while the valley is quieter. Nearby cameras at Teso, Bosque and Blanhiblar show other parts of the same resort, and Espot in the Parc Nacional d'Aigüestortes is a further 15 kilometres away.
