Baqueira-Beret - Blanhiblar
🇪🇸 Catalonia · Spain — Altitude 1500 m
This live camera looks over the Baqueira-Beret ski area in the Val d'Aran, high in the Catalan Pyrenees. It is a practical window for checking snow, cloud and visibility on the mountain before deciding whether to travel.
Baqueira-Beret sits in the Val d'Aran, the only part of Catalonia on the north side of the Pyrenean watershed, and its slopes rise to around 1,500 metres. The resort is best known as one of Spain's largest ski areas and is a regular stop for the Spanish royal family. Beyond the pistes, the surrounding valleys are forested, with rivers running down to the village of Baqueira and the larger town of Vielha.
The camera is most useful when you want to judge conditions on the mountain: whether the slopes are covered in fresh snow, how thick the cloud is, and how clearly the ridges show through. In winter, daylight hours are the most informative. In summer and autumn the view changes with the vegetation and any early snowfall. Conditions can shift quickly in the mountains, so a view that is clear in the morning may be hidden by afternoon cloud.
The ski season usually runs from December into April, depending on snowfall. Winters are cold and snowy, while summers are mild and suited to hiking. The nearby Bosque and Teso cameras show other parts of the resort, and Espot's camera offers a view of the wider Aigüestortes area. Check the local weather on this page before you set out, since mountain roads can close in bad weather.
