🇪🇸 Catalonia · Spain — Altitude 1500 m
This live camera looks out over the forest around Baqueira-Beret, one of the best-known ski resorts in the Catalan Pyrenees. It is useful for checking how the slopes and tree line look before deciding whether to head up to the mountains.
Baqueira-Beret sits at roughly 1,500 metres in the Val d'Aran, the only Atlantic-draining valley on the southern side of the Pyrenees. The resort is known for its wide pistes, its reliable snow and its mix of forest and open mountain terrain. The valley is quieter than many alpine resorts and keeps a strong Aranese identity in its language, villages and food.
A forest view mainly shows the trees, the snow cover between them and how heavy the cloud or fog is lying on the slopes. Depending on the angle, you may see fresh snowfall, wind moving through the branches or the light changing over the ridges. Mornings often give the clearest view before cloud builds, and winter days after fresh snow are usually the most striking to watch.
Winter brings the main ski season, typically from December to April, while summer is green and suited to walking and mountain bike routes. Weather can change quickly at altitude, so check the live forecast on this page before travelling. Nearby cameras on this site include Blanhiblar, Teso and Bonaigua within a few kilometres, and Espot's service centre about twenty kilometres away.
