This live stream looks out over Grao de Castellón, the seaside district that serves as the harbour and beach quarter of Castellón de la Plana. It is useful for checking how the sea and sky look before planning a walk, a boat trip or a day on the sand. The page also shows the local time and forecast so you can judge conditions at a glance.
Grao de Castellón sits on the Mediterranean coast of the Valencian Community, a few kilometres east of the provincial capital. It grew around its fishing harbour and port, and it still feels more like a working waterfront than a resort. The flat coastline, open sea and wide sky are typical of this part of Spain, and the area is known for its fish restaurants, promenade and long sandy beaches stretching north and south of the harbour.
The stream is best watched in the morning, when fishing boats are usually coming and going and the light over the water is clear. Afternoons can bring sea breezes and changing cloud, while sunset tends to be the most atmospheric time. Activity on the quay and promenade depends on the weather and season, so you may see more people in warmer months and a quieter scene in winter.
The Valencian coast has mild winters and warm, sunny summers, with the swimming season generally running from late spring to early autumn. Spring and autumn are comfortable for walking. Nearby, the coast continues north toward Benicàssim and Borriana, and south toward Torreblanca and Alcossebre, all of which have their own cameras on VizCams for comparing conditions along the shore.
