🇨🇭 Bern · Switzerland — Altitude 565 m
This live camera looks at the Kursaal, the congress and concert building in the centre of Interlaken, between the Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. Watch the streams of people and traffic in the town and check how the sky is looking over the Bernese Oberland before you head out.
Interlaken sits on a narrow strip of land between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, with the Jungfrau massif rising to the south. The town grew up as a stop on the route to the high Alps and is known as a base for hiking, paragliding, boat trips and winter sports. Its atmosphere is shaped by the mountains and the two lakes, which often change colour with the light and the weather.
The view is centred on the Kursaal, so you can follow daily life in the town centre, from morning arrivals to evening events held in the hall. Depending on the angle and the season, you may also see the lakes and the mountains behind the town. Clear mornings tend to give the most detail on the peaks, while cloud often hangs low over the valley in autumn and winter.
Interlaken has a temperate alpine climate, with warm summers that suit hiking and water sports and cold, snowy winters that attract skiers. Late spring and early autumn are often calm and clear. The town is easy to reach by train, and nearby cameras on Harder Kulm, Schynige Platte and Niederhorn show the surrounding peaks and viewpoints.
