Taipei - Bali Left Bank
🇹🇼 New Taipei · Taiwan — Altitude 10 m
This live stream shows the Bali Left Bank area of New Taipei, on the northern edge of the Taipei metropolitan region. It is useful for checking how the riverside looks right now before you plan a walk, a bike ride or a visit to the coast.
Bali is a district of New Taipei City that lies on the left bank of the Tamsui River, facing Taipei across the water. The area grew as a residential and transport link to the capital, and its flat, low-lying landscape is typical of the river estuary. Nearby, the river widens toward the Taiwan Strait, and the city's northern districts connect to a long chain of parks and promenades along the water.
Depending on the view, you may see river traffic, the riverbank, the bridges and the sky over the estuary. Light is most interesting in the early morning and in the hour before sunset, when the water takes on color. Weather changes quickly in this part of Taiwan, so the live picture is the best way to judge whether clouds are building or the air is clearing.
Taipei has a subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. Typhoon season from roughly July to October can bring heavy rain and strong wind, so check the forecast before traveling. Tamsui, with its old harbor and seafood, is a short ride away, and the Jiantanshan Weifeng Observatory and Yangmingshan are good options for a change of scenery.
