About the Hochries
The Hochries rises at about 1,569 metres in the Chiemgau Alps of southeastern Bavaria, not far from the town of Rosenheim and the Inn valley. It is a popular hiking mountain with a mix of forest paths, open meadows and wide views toward the lower terrain of Upper Bavaria. The hut is run by a section of the German Alpine Club, which gives the place a traditional mountain-hut character.
