This live camera looks over Pomerelle Mountain resort in the Albion Mountains of south-central Idaho. It is a useful place to check snow and mountain conditions before deciding whether to make the drive up. The live player, local time and weather forecast are all shown on this page.
Pomerelle sits at about 2,360 metres in the Albion Range, a high, rounded mountain area south of the Snake River Plain. The resort is best known as a small, family-oriented ski area that serves the surrounding farming and ranching communities of Cassia County. Its terrain is gentler than the big resorts in the region, with broad runs through conifers and open slopes. The landscape is wide, quiet and largely open, with sagebrush valleys below the ridgelines.
Because the camera is pointed at a mountain resort, the most useful thing to watch is snow cover, cloud movement and how the slopes look in the light. Mornings often bring clearer air and crisp contrast on fresh snow, while afternoons can bring changing cloud and wind across the ridges. In summer the same view shows green slopes and the changing weather over the range. Conditions can shift quickly at this altitude, so the live view is most helpful when checked shortly before you travel.
The area has a high-desert mountain climate with cold, snowy winters and dry, warm summers, and the upper slopes can be windy at any time of year. Winter is the main season for visitors, while late spring and summer suit hiking and scenic drives. The resort is reached by road from the Burley and Albion direction, and the drive can be slow in snow. Other cameras in the wider region, including those at Hailey, Oasis and Cache Valley, offer a broader look at the weather across the state.
